Legends and Chronicles – New category the Big Cats
Weve just started uploading our latest addition to the Legends and Chronicles website, and this time its the legendary Big Cats, the genus panthera. Big Cats have been always been revered and respected and its only right that we give them their own space on Legends and Chronicles. First up are the Lion and the Tiger, with the rest of the genus panthera to follow shortly.Tigers
The Tiger is the largest of the big cats in the genus panthera family which also consists of the Leopard, the Lion and the Puma. Its official name is Panthera Tigris. The Tiger is recognizable from the stripes on its fur which are a mix of colours from white to oranges to darks. The tigers fur markings also serve a survival purpose, where it acts as camouflage to help the tiger avoid predators and to remain largely unseen when hunting.lions
The lion is a member of the genus panthera and the second largest big cat, losing out only to the slightly larger tiger. With the male lion adorned with a distinctive mane, which is unique in the Genus panthera, has made the lion an iconic worldwide image even more so than the other members of the panthera familyAncient Warriors

There are four genus Panthera cats, from the largest the Tiger, the Lion, the Leopard and finally the Jaguar. The Tiger and Lion are by far the two biggest of the Panthera family and share similar body mass, while the Leopard and the Jaguar are smaller but are both similar in size.
